Document · Operations
A breeding animal health testing calendar tracking every animal in your program. 24 rows, 12 months, conditional formatting for overdue tests, and an OFA reference sheet so requirements are visible at a glance.
About this document
Most breeding programs lose track of health testing one animal at a time. The dam's progesterone testing was done last year so she is "fine." The stud's OFA hips were cleared three years ago so they are "still good." 6 months later you're scrambling to schedule a test before a planned breeding because you forgot it expired, or you're explaining to a buyer why a clearance is older than the recommended interval.
The Annual Health Testing Calendar is the program-level view of testing across all your breeding animals at once. Populate it at the start of each year. As the year progresses, the spreadsheet shows you what's upcoming, what's current, and what's overdue.
What the document does:
It tracks recurring health testing for up to 24 breeding animals across all 12 months of the year on a single sheet. Each cell represents a planned test for an animal in a given month. As tests are completed, you record the actual completion date. Cells that pass their planned month without completion highlight as overdue, prompting action.
The bonus Test Reference sheet provides a starting point if you're not sure which tests apply to your program. It covers 17 commonly recommended tests for breeding animals across multiple species, with general timing recommendations.
What is included:
Format and how it works:
Editable spreadsheet (.xlsx) with conditional formatting plus a printable PDF version. The .xlsx works in Excel, Apple Numbers, and Google Sheets. Most breeders populate the calendar at the start of each year with planned tests per animal, then update it as tests are completed across the year.
The Test Reference sheet is a separate tab in the spreadsheet. It's general guidance and not a replacement for veterinary advice. Different breeds and species have different testing recommendations. Talk to your reproductive vet about what your program needs.
Why this version is different:
Most program-level health tracking lives in someone's head or in a notebook that gets lost. This version makes the entire program visible on one sheet, with the planned vs. actual structure that turns "we should probably check on that" into "this is overdue, schedule it." The Test Reference sheet alone saves first-time breeders hours of research figuring out what testing is even recommended for their breed.
Who this is for:
For breeders running multi-animal programs who want a single, current view of where every breeding animal stands on health testing. Especially valuable for breeders preparing for breeding seasons, breed club applications, or buyer due diligence questions about what testing has been done. Also valuable for new breeders setting up their first program and wanting a structure to plan around.

Updates
You bought version 1. When a state adds a registry requirement, a new federal rule lands, or a working breeder catches something that belongs in the document, the new file shows up in your inbox. No upsell, no annual subscription, no "unlock by upgrading." The document is yours, updates included, forever.
Common questions
The contracts were drafted with an attorney and pressure-tested across multiple working programs, but they are templates — not a substitute for a lawyer for your specific state's laws. Each file ships with a clear note about that. Most breeders use them as a starting point and have a local attorney review for state-specific edits.
XLSX + PDF. The XLSX opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers. The PDF is fill-on-screen or print-and-fill. Everything is editable.
When I ship a new version of this document, the new file lands in your inbox. Laws shift. A state adds a registry requirement. A working breeder tells me something that belongs in the document. The next version goes out to everyone who bought the previous one. No upsell, no annual subscription.
14-day no-questions-asked refund. If the documentdoesn't fit your operation, you get your money back and I'd genuinely like to hear why so the next version is better.
Yes, by a wide margin if you need more than two or three documents. The Working Breeder Operations Kit bundles this and every other operations document for $22.
