What the document does:

It tracks daily weights for up to 12 puppies across the full 56 days from birth through go-home. For each puppy, it auto-calculates current weight, total weight gained since birth, and average daily gain. For the litter as a whole, it computes the litter average so each individual puppy can be compared against its littermates.

The conditional formatting is the part that earns its keep. Any day a puppy fails to gain weight compared to the previous day, the cell highlights. That single visual cue catches failure to thrive before it becomes critical.
