Document · Keeper's Emergency
Track shed frequency, completeness, and problem zones. Catch husbandry issues early through shed quality, with leopard and crested expected frequencies and stuck-zone protocols.
About this document
Sheds are one of the most reliable husbandry signals a gecko gives the keeper. The frequency, completeness, and pattern of sheds tell you whether humidity, diet, and hydration are dialed in. Stuck shed is usually a humidity problem. Slowed shed frequency in juveniles is usually a growth problem. The Shed Log makes the pattern legible.
The keeper logs every shed event with date, days since last, completeness, and problem zones. Over time the log shows whether the enclosure humidity is actually working or whether the keeper is fighting recurring stuck sheds despite "correct" hygrometer readings.
What the document does:
It records shed events in a 14-row table with six columns (shed date, days since last, complete, stuck zones, humidity at time, notes). The expected frequency section gives species-specific cadence by life stage. The common stuck zones section breaks out toes, eye caps, tail tip, and body patches by urgency, with the home protocol for each and the threshold where stuck shed becomes a vet visit.
What is included:
Format and how it works:
Word version (.docx) for editing and a PDF version for printing. The 14-row capacity covers roughly 9 to 12 months at adult shed cadence or 5 to 7 months at juvenile cadence. Most keepers print one log per gecko per year.
Why this version is different:
Most shed references treat shed as a binary "shed happened" event. This one tracks completeness, problem zones, and humidity at the time of shed, which is what makes the pattern legible. Three consecutive stuck sheds in the same zone is a husbandry problem, not bad luck, and the log surfaces that.
Who this is for:
For gecko keepers tracking their first animal's shed cycles and for breeders who want every buyer to record sheds from day one. Pairs with the Stuck Shed Playbook (which the log routes to when stuck shed appears) and the Husbandry Tracking Workbook.

Updates
You bought version 1. When a state adds a registry requirement, a new federal rule lands, or a working breeder catches something that belongs in the document, the new file shows up in your inbox. No upsell, no annual subscription, no "unlock by upgrading." The document is yours, updates included, forever.
Common questions
The contracts were drafted with an attorney and pressure-tested across multiple working programs, but they are templates — not a substitute for a lawyer for your specific state's laws. Each file ships with a clear note about that. Most breeders use them as a starting point and have a local attorney review for state-specific edits.
DOCX + PDF. The DOCX opens in Word, Google Docs, Pages, or LibreOffice. The PDF is fill-on-screen or print-and-fill. Everything is editable.
When I ship a new version of this document, the new file lands in your inbox. Laws shift. A state adds a registry requirement. A working breeder tells me something that belongs in the document. The next version goes out to everyone who bought the previous one. No upsell, no annual subscription.
14-day no-questions-asked refund. If the documentdoesn't fit your operation, you get your money back and I'd genuinely like to hear why so the next version is better.
Yes, by a wide margin if you need more than two or three documents. The Keeper's Emergency Kit bundles this and every other keeper's emergency document for $18.50.
