Weight Log

Weight is the single most useful signal in gecko keeping. A gecko that loses 10 percent of body weight in 4 weeks is sick until proven otherwise, even if it looks fine. A gecko that gains weight steadily is rarely in trouble. The Weight Log turns that observation into a working tool.

It captures every weigh-in with the change since the previous entry, the percent change, and notes. Over time the log builds a real growth picture for juveniles and a stability picture for adults. When the keeper or breeder spots a divergence from trend, the action thresholds in the log tell them what to do.

What the document does:

It records weigh-ins in a 20-row table with five columns (date, weight in grams, change since last, percent change, notes). The animal profile header captures species, hatch date, sex, source, baseline weight, and baseline date. The target weight ranges section gives species-specific ranges by life stage. The when-to-act section provides clear thresholds for vet-now (10 percent drop in 4 weeks), monitor (5 to 10 percent drop), and normal noise.
